Quilts
of Love
Belle loves to
quilt. And lately she’s realized she loves helping others just as much. Ever
since Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast, she’s been quilting up a storm.
Belle wanted to do more than just write a check to charity. So she opened the
doors of her store to anyone who would help. Belle supplied the materials, and
the volunteers came in droves. They were making clean, warm quilts as a symbol
of renewal. The first 20 quilts were loaded on a truck and sent to the Gulf
Coast. Belle didn’t set a goal about how many they will ultimately send. She
says, “I’d hate to limit myself.” And so, Belle and her army of quilters
continue the work.
You see, mercy blankets the needs of other. Now you go; cover someone with mercy
today.
