Joanne
Wilson’s Mercy Legacy
Some tragedies
just seem worse than others.
Take the case of Joanne Wilson. Joanne was an emergency room nurse, a job she
performed with care and compassion. Joanne was especially touched by the plight
of victims of sexual assault. So she convinced the hospital management to outfit
a special treatment room designed for victims of sexual trauma. This special
room has even become a model for similar units in other hospitals. But Joanne
never got to see her dream realized. She was killed by a drunk driver prior to
the dedication.
It makes you wonder … if you were suddenly struck by tragedy, what kind of
legacy of mercy would you leave behind?
Now you go. Wisely use the time God has allotted to you, by building a legacy of
mercy today.
This is Don Stephens of Mercy Ships reminding you, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy."
