AIDS
Treatment in Botswana
Ernest Darkoh is a
creative problem-solver. His degrees in medicine and business helped his company
design an AIDS-treatment program in Botswana.
Ernest recognized immediately that they couldn’t get sufficient health care to
the community. So he introduced an innovative program to get the treatment where
they needed to go. They were overwhelmed by a flood of patients. Seriously ill
patients required so much time that healthier patients were untreated. Ernest
decided to borrow the retail idea of an “express checkout lane.” A “fast lane”
was for simple testing or medication and a “slow” lane for more serious needs.
The program has been a huge success. Patients needing care are finally getting
the help they need.
You see, mercy finds creative ways to minister to others. Now you go … be
creative … and show mercy to someone today.
