Back
to School
A Mercy Ships
volunteer named Robin was in the middle of an interview with a patient. And
suddenly, a woman named Sako broke in. Through a translator, Sako told Robin of
her years of health problems. She told of her husband leaving her. She talked
about her 14-year-old daughter, Mahawa, who wasn’t in school because she
couldn’t afford it.
A year of schooling would cost about 3000 Liberian dollars — about 60 US
dollars. Well Robin decided then and there to pay for Mahawa’s school fees and
the uniform for the year. She also decided she’d make arrangements to pay the
school fees for every year until Mahawa completed school.
You see, mercy takes steps to make the impossible possible. It turns dreams into
reality.
Now you go, show mercy, and make someone’s dream a reality today.
This is Don Stephens of Mercy Ships reminding you, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy."
